I’ve been blogging for over a year now, and I don’t think I’ve ever really explained the story behind the name. I could’ve chose any name, but I wanted mine to really stick out. It basically all started when I first created my twitter account in 2009. I wanted to have part of my name, I just wanted it spelled a little different, so it would stick out more.
So thelyndsimae was created. I’ve definitely had my fair share of twitter interactions with quite a few well known people (let me know if you’d like to hear about them) and it took years of being consistent and posting that my following grew up to over a thousand followers. Yeah, it still may be a small number in the amount of time I’ve been on there, but I still think of it as an accomplishment, no matter what the number is. The number shouldn’t matter as long as you have one person that you’ve helped impact in life.
After a few failed blogs, I finally got re-inspired and motivated to start writing and sharing my inner most thoughts, especially when I became a first time single mom. I originally had my blog on Blogger in early 2017. Later that year, I had switched everything to WordPress and I loved it. After a year of blogging, I finally saved up some extra money, to upgrade to a domain and more themes and it helped make things so much easier. I’ve shared so many things from DIYs to fashion, to reviewing my favorite things and interviewing Perez Hilton. Not many bloggers can say that.
What’s my actual name?
My real name is Lindsey Mae, but when I created my twitter name, like I said, I wanted it spelled different, so it’s the lyndsimae. I probably could’ve used my real name, but the lyndsimae has always been a part of my social media life. It’s went from twitter to youtube, to this blog, and now a podcast, which is lyndsimae studios podcast. And of course it’s all my social media handles.
It’s became my personal brand. I may talk more about my brand slogan in another post. I was inspired by my friend’s post of her going in depth with her brand name, that I realized I should do that myself. It’s amazing how much the blogging community has grown and I love it. And I’ve made such awesome friends within the community. I’m so glad I’m getting back into the swing of things and writing more and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this blog and my other projects for 2019.
